2. Firewall settings

For the PassMan to be able to check the credential status, first the 445 port has to be open for this purpose on the target systems. Following steps are needed:  

Open the Windows Firewall from start menu

             

Click on: Advanced settings

             

1. Click on: Inbound Rules at the left / and on New Rule... at the right
   
       
   
   

   1. Type to create: Port, then Next>

      

   2. TCP or UDP? select TCP here, Specific local ports: 445, then Next>

                  

1. 1. Allow the connection, then Next>

      

   2. When does this rule apply? Select all three: Domain, Private, Public. Then Next>

      
      

   3. Under the Name menu give the rule a suitable name (i.e. PassMan_445). Then Finish

      
      

2. Now visit the Outband Rules section / New Rule... and set the same rule we have detailed above.
